Sunday CS3 Flash Tutorial: Lesson 3 Actions!
In this lesson we will learn about Traceing bitmaps,Swaping symbols,
Simple Actions,How to make a button, setting up V-cam (extensions)
Tablet I use:
Extension Manager (Adobe) CS3
Extension Manager (Macromedia) Flash 8
Extenstion Manager (Macromedia) MX2004
Extenstion Manager (Macromedia) MX
Tips: Actions for the extensions work in 2.0
Close flash after installing a extension
Use slight transparency for the V-cam
Number youur run sequences before
making motion animation with sprites.
Tips from the Viewers:
ifureadthisdie: Tracing the bitmap is a big no no. Reason is, when you trace the bitmap you’re converting the bitmap into vectors, now this wouldn’t be bad if it wasn’t for the huge amount of anchor points it gives these images (it tries to give it an anchor point for every pixel) causing lag and increase in file size. You’re actually suppose to make the BG transparent externally (photoshop or something) and then BREAK APART!
Reason breaking apart is beneficial is because now flash only has to remember 4 vertices (the corners), so it’s a billion times easier. Now, when you break it apart, you’ll see that the empty space is still there, when you select it it turns black. Easy fix. Select the lasso tool, then go down and click on the 2nd magic want with ellipses, set the settings to Threshold: 10, smoothing: pixels. There, now you no lag (probably why you couldn’t do it on your old laptop) and less file size.
Whoops, forgot to mention after you set the magic wand tool settings, use the first magic wand, and then click the outside area of the sprites, and simply delete. Now I have no idea why you made each sprite a graphic, it’s eons easier to just make graphic symbols of the animation. Like one graphic symbol for the whole walking animation. That’s a hell of a lot easier. And if you need just 1 sprite just go in the graphic and copy hold shift while using the brush tool
MrEpicFlashes: hold shift while using the brush tool to draw a perfect line lol
